Our Early Years course prepares you to become a knowledgeable, research-informed and conscientious educational professional working with young learners.On this course you will:- be introduced to historical and contemporary constructions of childhood, investigate theories of child development and develop an underpinning knowledge of play-based approaches
- examine different theoretical and practice-based perspectives such as learning through play and the relationship between attachment behaviours and brain development
- consider the different domains of learning and development, including personal, social and emotional development, communication and language, physical development and literacy skills
- have the opportunity to think about the characteristics of effective learning and the ways in which they support children to flourish and become lifelong learners.
