University of Laval was the first French- Language university in North America, founded in the year 1663 when North America was a French colony. About 200 years later in 1852, this institution became a university in Quebec and is currently a renowned higher education institute of Canada. Till date the college has produced 312,000 graduates and has 1,600 professors.
