Radboud University was originally found in 1656 and was shut down in 1679 due to insufficient funds. This university has a beautiful nature-friendly campus spread over an area of 100 hectares, which features vast green patches of grasslands and trees. A major portion of the university is also situated inside the Heyendaal Castle.
The campus of this university also features a teaching hospital that goes by the name Radboud University Medical Centre. Alongside the hospital, there is the Huygens Building, the Erasmus Tower, Radboud Sports Centre, Elinor Ostrom Building. This university also has numerous research institutes such as Research Institute for Philosophy, Institute for Historical, Literary and Cultural Studies.
These institutes conduct research in multiple fields of study such as astrophysics, business and law, cognitive neuroscience, cybersecurity, human genetics, infection and immunology, linguistics, microbiology, organic chemistry, and solid-state physics.
