Jonkoping University laid its foundation in the year 1977 and it is one of three private, non-profit higher education institutes in Sweden, which has the authority to grant doctorates. Operating in agreement and affiliation with the Swedish Government, this university adheres to national degree regulations and quality specifications. Under the Jönköping University Foundation, there are six divisions including Jönköping International Business School, the School of Health and Welfare, the School of Engineering and the School of Education and Communications. This university provides more than 80 different programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Additionally, it has more than 350 partner universities all across the globe.
Dwelled in the city center of Jonkoping, this university's campus is a 5-minute walk from the central station. The campus provides the students with several student-friendly amenities such as a library, cafes, computer labs, career center and health care services. The computer labs can be accessed throughout the day and the entire campus has a high-speed Wi-Fi facility. On-campus parking facilities are also available to the students with an authorized permit. The students’ health care service is a free-of-cost service that allows the students to interact with the counselors or nurses whenever needed. The different restaurants and cafes on the campus are open to the staff, students and even to the public.

Description
- University Accommodation Office cooperates with many different landlords around Jonkoping to offer a variety of accommodations to international students

- For the bachelor’s students, an internship may be offered during the elective semester. Two-year advanced level programs at Jonkoping International Business School also offer various internships.
- In the School Located Studies, the teachers in the School of Education and Communication allow the students to spend a period of time in their future professional environment.
- Work placement is included in all programs at the School of Health and Welfare and the School of Education and Communication by collaborating with approximately 360 hospitals, health care departments, and institutions.
- The industrial placement course at the School of Engineering offers a 5-10 week internship at a company during the spring semester of the second year for undergraduate programs or the autumn semester on the advanced level.
Scholarships
- Though the university does not offer institutional scholarships, it does support all the scholarships awarded by the Swedish Government. The application must be received by April 15.
- Swedish Institute offers 500 scholarships to students coming to Sweden to complete their higher education.
- Applicants can also apply for various scholarship opportunities in their home country.
