Program Description
- Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London is a 4-year program.
- It is an on-campus, 240 credits program offered on a full-time basis.
- In this program, students study many subjects, including engineering mathematics, mechanics, nanotechnology, biomaterials, electronic engineering, physiology, programming, and design.
- The first two years are designed to ensure that all students achieve a common breadth and depth of knowledge.
- In the third and fourth years, students choose modules according to their interests in one of four pathways:
- Biomedical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Computational Bioengineering
- Students study reaches the Master’s level in the fourth year. Studying at this level requires fewer years of work experience to become a Chartered Engineer.
- In the final year, students have to complete a major individual project that gives them a chance to showcase research and project management skills.
- This begins early in the academic year and runs through until approximately mid-June.
- Assessment varies between modules and it involves a combination of written exams, practical and continuous assessment of coursework.
- This degree is professionally accredited by the following organizations on behalf of the Engineering Council:

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have three A-level (A*AA) overall, which include:
- A* in Mathematics
- A in Physics
- A in another subject (Biology, Chemistry or Further Mathematics is recommended)
- Students must have 38 points overall, which consists of 6 in Mathematics, 6 in Physics, 6 in a third subject at a higher level.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL and PTE to get admission in this program.
- Students should have completed a 3-4 year bachelor's degree from a mainstream university (state/federal or deemed institution) passed with the required grades.
- Students for research should hold a 3 to 4-year bachelor's degree and master's degree, both passed with required grades.
- Applicants from elite institutions will be required to obtain a minimum overall average of 7 / 10 or 60%. These are the college minimum scores and particular departments may seek grades at a higher level.
- Applicants from other approved institutions will be required to obtain a minimum overall average ranging from 7.5-8 / 10 or 65-70%.
