Program Description

  • St. Lawrence College offers an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration-Accounting for a duration of 3 years.
  • It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
  • St. Lawrence College offers two programs in account­ing as follows:
    • Business - Accounting (2 years)
    • Business Administration-Accounting (3 years)
  • The first two years in both programs are common.
  • The Business Administration-Accounting (3 years) program offers students a more intensive background in financial accounting, corporate finance, cost accounting, and taxation during the third year as well as a work placement in the final semester of the program.
  • The program delivery is run on weekdays and classes may start as early as 8:30 am and may sometimes run to 8:30 pm.
  • Students starting in January must take the second semester during the spring/summer in order to be on track for the third semester in the fall.
  • Students have to use a PC computer for their accounting program studies. The use of a Mac computer is not recommended since accounting and tax software used in this program does not run on Macs.
  • Graduates of the accounting diploma programs have the opportunity to transfer into the professional program offered by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
  • Students have the opportunity to continue to the Laurentian University Bachelor of Business Administration degree offered on the Kingston campus.
  • St. Lawrence College offers an extensive Student Scholarship and Bursary Program. Scholarships and bursaries for this purpose are sponsored by external organizations and private individuals.
  • Students interested in pursuing a CPA designation can refer to the CPA Ontario web site which requires a university degree as an entrance requirement into the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP Program).

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:
  • Students have to complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with the majority of Grade 11 and 12 courses at the C, U, or M level including the following prerequisites:
    • Grade 12 English at the C or U level
    • Grade 11 Math at the C, U or M level
Indian Student Eligibility:
  • The students must have completed 10th and intermediate i.e 12th grade which has the minimum with 60% marks.
  • The minimum qualification required to attend this program is a higher secondary school certificate.
  • Copies of original documents should be attested by the educational institution.
  • School Record of Diploma/Degree certificate Mark sheets for each year of study is required.
