Program Description

MISSION AND GOALS

The programme - created by the cooperation in the educational project of the disciplinary areas of Design, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Engineering - has the objective of specialist training in three fundamental areas: Design, Process and Industrial Production; Design Materials; Representation and Prototyping. This programme has the objective of preparing a design figure who integrates the Design and “engineering” cultures, a professional able to provide a complete project dossier comprising product concept, via final and working design, and preparation of the documents necessary to go into production; who has particular skills in the choice of materials, in design methodologies in a virtual environment and in the impact of the technological aspects of production systems on the project.

Among the available courses:1ST YEARProduct Development Design Studio (1 and 2), Mechanical Design, Materials Selection Criteria in Design & Engineering, Design Thinking and Processes, Design and Corporate Economics, Semiotics, Design & Manufacturing, Elective course.2ND YEARFinal Project Work, Internship, Final Examination.

Entry Requirements

In order to apply, a Bachelor Degree in Design or in Engineering is required. Only students with a Design background are required to provide a portfolio of their works.

Note: this study programme accepts applications to the 2nd semester only from candidates who have completed the following single courses during the 1st semester: Product Development Studio; I.C. Materials for Design.

From academic year 2019-20 Laurea magistrale programmes in Design accept students only in the first semester of the academic year (September intake)
