Program Description

Students go beyond the traditional canon of literature to study texts from many different genres and contexts. The student will also have opportunities to engage with classic texts by writers like Shakespeare, Dickens, and Austen, but the student may also find reading:
  • Native American writing
  • Prison narratives
  • Radical poetry
  • Avant-garde writing
  • Speculative fiction
  • LGBT rights literature,
  • Experimental writing
  • Literature of the Caribbean.
As the students progress through the degree, they will become increasingly skilled readers, writers, and critics. A degree in English Literature will also help the student build personal and professional skills that can lead to many exciting careers.

Academic Eligibility:
  • 104 UCAS Tariff points
  • 3 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) including the English Language
Indian Eligibility:Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
