Program Description

  • Diploma in Hospitality - Hotel and Resort Operations Management at Georgian College is offered as 2 years (4 semesters) plus 1 work term program.
  • It is an on-campus program offered on both a full-time basis and this program offers over 500 hours of paid co-op work.
  • Student centred faculty focus on delivering innovative curriculum, industry expertise, and employability skills in the pillars of the hospitality industry, entrepreneurial thinking, accounting and finance, marketing and sales, food and beverage, accommodations, and human resources management.
  • With extensive experiential opportunities including field trips, practical labs, workplace certifications, and study and travel abroad, Georgian College, through the strategic industry partners, opens up an exciting hospitality career.
  • As a professional, students experience a unique lifestyle and meet diverse people from around the world.
  • To graduate from this program, the passing weighted average for promotion through each semester, from year to year, and to graduate is 60%. 
  • In addition to the one co-op work term, the South Georgian Bay campus offers an opportunity for international students to interview for a part-time position prior to arrival.
  • Those who are successful through the interview process will live in the resort staff residence while working for the resort and studying in the hospitality program.
  • The majority of graduates from this program find positions in the following fields: hotels, resorts, clubs and restaurant operations, sales and marketing, attractions, theme parks, airline food services, etc.
  • The average salary goes up to 40,000 USD after completion of the program.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:
  • Students have to complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with Grade 12 English (C or U).
  • Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school students may also be considered for admission.
  • Students who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing also get admission to this program.
Indian Student Eligibility:Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
  • All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
  • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
  • Indian School Certificate (ISC)
  • Intermediate Examination Certificate
  • Pre-University Examination Certificate
  • Diploma / Degree certificate Mark sheets for each year of study.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
