Program Description

  • The University of Regina offers MEng in Petroleum System Engineering with a duration of 2 years (4 terms) program.
  • This program is offered on a full-time basis.
  • This program contains four options: course work, thesis, co-op, or project option.
  • The MEng in Petroleum System Engineering focuses on the following areas of research:
    • Surface Thermodynamics
    • Advanced Reservoir Fluid Analysis 
    • Petroleum Geomechanics
    • Advanced Reservoir Engineering 
    • Advanced Enhanced Oil Recovery
    • Advanced Well Testing 
  • Students are enrolled in a Co-op route in their program of study and receive a letter from the Co-op office.
  • Students can go for an internship during their last year of study.
  • The Student to faculty ratio is 20:1 which bridges the gap between the faculty and students.
  • After completing this program, students have job opportunities as exploration engineers, well-logging engineers, petrophysicists, drilling engineers, and many more., etc.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:
  • Students have a graduating average of at least 70 percent from a four-year bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 (B grade).
  • Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL and GRE to get admission in this program.
Indian Student EligibilityIndian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
  • Students have to complete a four-year undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Students with a marginally lower four-year average may be accepted if their performance in the last two complete years is significantly higher (75% or more).
  • Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
