Program Description

  • The University of Regina offers a MFA in Studio Art Practice with a duration of 2 years program.
  • The graduate programs in Interdisciplinary Studies in Fine Arts include a studies-based Master of Arts (MA) and a practice-based Master of Fine Arts (MFA).
  • In both cases, students are required to complete projects which integrate knowledge from two or three distinct traditional disciplines one of which must be a Fine Arts discipline (i.e.: media production and studies, music, theatre, visual arts).
  • The Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts is offered with the following areas of concentration:
    • Ceramics
    • Drawing

    • Sculpture
  • It is the philosophy of the program that traditional skills and specializations are usefully augmented and contextualized by a Fine Arts perspective and a cross-disciplinary approach.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:
  • Students have a Four-year undergraduate degree with a minimum grade point average equivalent to Canadian 70%.
  • Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL and GRE to get admission in this program.
Indian Student EligibilityIndian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
  • Students have to complete a four-year undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Students with a marginally lower four-year average may be accepted if their performance in the last two complete years is significantly higher (75% or more).
  • Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
