Program Description
- The Bachelor of Journalism (Pre-Journalism) is a 4-year program at the University of Regina.
- Students will learn newspaper and magazine writing, television and radio news and documentary production, digital editing, and desktop and Internet publishing.
- The main topics of the program are:
- Media
- Power and Communication Rights
- Photo Journalism
- Investigative Journalism
- Print Editing
- Advanced Interviewing
- Students will be encouraged to challenge conventional wisdom and develop their own writing style.
- Students spend a semester on an internship in a radio, television, newspaper, magazine, or Internet newsroom.
- To begin this degree students will need to register in the Faculty of Arts as a Pre-Journalism student and Entrance into the School of Journalism is competitive and happens after 2nd year (60 credit hours) is complete.
- The acceptance rate of this program is 85%.
- After graduating from this program, students have job opportunities as reporters, writers, editors, and many more.
