  • MA in Economics at Lakehead University allows students to complete in 2 years.
  • The Economics program offers training in core economic theory courses as well as a number of field options.
  • The student to faculty ratio for this program is 15:1.
  • This program offered in three option:
    • Thesis
    • Non-thesis
    • Co-op
  • Students opt for the non-thesis option that is the standard in most graduate Economics programs in North America.
  • The main purpose of the co-op option is to provide students with an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom and to obtain new insights and educational experiences.
  • The Program will Include:
    • analysis of decisions made by individuals
    • a study of how markets operate
    • discussions of current policy debates
    • an empirical and theoretical study of aggregate economic activities such as economic growth, inflation, and unemployment

Academic Eligibility:
  • Students must have a four-year bachelor's degree in Economics from a recognized university/college or institute.
  • GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 [B Grade].
Indian Student Eligibility: 
  • Students must have a four-year bachelor's degree in economics or its equivalent.
  • Students must have an equivalent of a minimum 70% overall final average.
