Program Description

  • The Bachelor in English Language and Literature is a 4-year program with Honours at the University of Windsor.
  • This program is designed for individuals who are seeking to prepare for a career in the English Language and Literature.
  • Writing is central to all English courses. Students will discover the power of language and develop the student’s own skills in research, analysis, organization, and expression.
  • Students will learn to read perceptively, opening student’s minds to other viewpoints and experiences. In student’s courses from the first year on, students will work closely with some of the world's leading scholars in areas such as gender studies, modern British literature, Gothic studies, American literature, Renaissance studies, and composition pedagogy. Students may choose to double major in any BA Honours program.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility: 
  • Students must have a high school diploma which is equivalent to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
  • Students required a minimum 70% average of Grade 12 English required.

  • Students whose official language is not English are required to submit TOEFL or IELTS Scores.
