  • The Faculty for Chemistry and Pharmacy and the Faculty for Biology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich offer an advanced program of study which grants, upon successful completion, the degree of Master of Science.
  • Admission to these programs requires a bachelor of science in either chemistry and biochemistry, biology and biochemistry or biochemistry. The Master of Science in biochemistry and the diploma in biochemistry are equivalent.
  • Students in the master's program acquire advanced specialized knowledge in their field which enables them to conduct independent research in the field of biochemistry and related applications and embark on multidisciplinary careers.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Bachelor degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry or Biology or a closely related field in natural science. The Bachelor curriculum should include practical courses in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Chemistry or related fields. In addition, an entrance exam must be taken. Passing the entrance exam allows acceptance into the program. The entrance exam is mandatory for all applicants and can only be taken in Munich at the Gene Center at the specified date.
