Program Description
- Bachelor of Public Administration at York University is offered as a 4-year teaching program.
- This course is offered on both a full-time and part-time basis.
- Public management leaders must have multidisciplinary knowledge, critical skills, and abilities to realize their vision to advance the public interest.
- At York, students prepare leaders for the broader public sector that spans all levels of government, public institutions, and non-profit organizations, who can excel and thrive in a dynamic multicultural environment.
- The Bachelor of Public Administration is an Honours only program and students also have the option to specialize in one of three streams:
- Law, Justice and Public Policy
- Management
- Policy Analysis
- Many courses involve simulations and exercises drawn from real-world scenarios at all three levels of the Canadian government.
- The graduates also work as policy analysts, legal and regulatory compliance officers, consultants, and government relations managers in the private sector.
- Students in the Public Administration program take courses from a mix of disciplines that provide a breadth of knowledge and opportunities to develop critical thinking, analytical capabilities, and management skills.
- A limited number of practicum and internship placements are available for qualified students.
- As a Public Administration student, they will have the opportunity to gain experience through field placements in Public Administration-related organizations.
- The program is staffed by faculty with strong research records and many years of combined experience in active public service.

Academic Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- Students must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) degree.
- Students must have to complete the following course such as:
- English (ENG4U)
- Four additional 4U or M courses
- 4U math
- To gain admission to this program, the student's academic average should be in the mid-70s.
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
- Indian School Certificate (ISC)
- Intermediate Examination Certificate
- Pre-University Examination Certificate
- Students also have to complete the Grade XII math course.
