Program Description
- Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering at York University is offered as 4 years teaching program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on both a full-time and part-time basis.
- The program is consists of co-op and a BA in International Development Studies which is available for all of the Engineering programs.
- Civil Engineering students at Lassonde learn about structural and foundation design, transportation systems planning and design, water resources management, wastewater treatment, and environmental impact assessment.
- Students have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of technical electives in Civil Engineering:
- Structural
- Geotechnical
- Hydrotechnical
- Transportation
- Environmental
- In addition, the graduates receive training in new emerging areas, such as innovative materials and construction technologies, infrastructure rehabilitation, computer-aided simulations, sustainability, natural hazards, and climate-change-driven engineering.
- Professional experience through co-op option after 2nd year can give students an early start towards becoming a licensed Professional Engineer.

- Fluid Mechanics
- Hydraulics and Hydrology
- Structural Design
- University provides co-op and internship opportunities in all of the programs that can get students up to 18 months of on-the-job experience.
- Students can work a minimum of 12 months up to a maximum of 20 months while on co-op.
- University will dive deep into learning about the field student are passionate about, and gain perspective through co-op, internship, entrepreneurship, research, and student clubs.
- The average salary goes up to 45,000 USD.

Academic Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- Students must complete an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) degree.
- As an Ontario Secondary School student, here are the courses they need to apply:
- English
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Advanced Functions
- Calculus and Vectors
- Students must have a minimum grade of 70% in each of these prerequisite courses.
- Students must have proof of English language proficiency (for non-native English speakers, i.e. IELTS, TOEFL).
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
- Indian School Certificate (ISC)
- Intermediate Examination Certificate
- Pre-University Examination Certificate
- Students also have to complete the Grade XII math course.
