Program Description
- Bachelor of Science in Biology at York University is offered as 3 years teaching program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on both a full-time and part-time basis.
- BSc in Biology is the first bilingual program in Southern Ontario to offer courses in English and French.
- This program is for those interested in conservation biology, animal behavior, ecology, and other areas of biology.
- The courses studied by students in their first year include:
- Introduction to Statistical Methods
- Cells, Molecular Biology, and Genetics
- Energy, Physical Sciences, and the Environment
- A French or English language course (depending on their current language abilities)
- A social science or humanities course of their choice
- As a Glendon student, they can also take biology classes on the Keele campus, in York's oldest science program, where many professors are employed, who are world-renowned for their teaching and research.
- Small classes at Glendon provide students with a personalized experience and cutting-edge research opportunities that are rare during undergraduate study.
- The program includes advanced research opportunities that are rarely offered at the undergraduate level.
- Students will get the opportunity to regularly test research, learn theory through practice (for example, on-campus insect sampling) and help drive entrepreneurship and innovation in their field.

Academic Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- Students must complete an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) degree.
- Students must have to complete the following course such as:
- English (ENG4U)
- Advanced Functions (MHF4U) or French (FRA4U)
- Biology (SBI4U)
- Chemistry (SCH4U)
- And two additional 4U or M courses - recommendation (s) below:
- SPH4U
- 4U French
- To gain admission to this program, the student’s academic average should be in the low-to-mid 80s.
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
- Indian School Certificate (ISC)
- Intermediate Examination Certificate
- Pre-University Examination Certificate
- Students also have to complete the Grade XII biology, chemistry, and math.
- Students are also required to complete the Grade XII physics and Grade XII, French.
