Program Description

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering at York University is offered as a 4-year teaching program.
  • This course is offered by the Lassonde School of Engineering on a full-time basis.
  • The Electrical Engineering program is accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB).
  • This faculty will first teach students about the big concepts that make up electrical engineering.
  • Students will gain in-depth knowledge as they learn about designing a whole slew of power electronics, signal processors, and medical/assistive devices in their upper years.
  • In this four-year honors program, students will study courses related to
    • Power Electronics
    • Electric Circuits and Devices
    • Digital Logic Design
    • Embedded Systems
    • Integrated Circuit Design
    • Communication Networks Project
    • Introduction to Power Systems
    • Medical Devices
  • The theoretical knowledge that students have will be balanced with hands-on experience.
  • If students geek out over gadgets, just wait until they get into Robotics Lab.
  • Students will have access to Digital Logic Lab and the Multimedia Lab.
  • After the second year, students can take part in the co-op program.
  • Sample co-op employers are IBM, Ericsson. BMO, Nascent. Students get opportunities to get into these for co-op.
  • This will help students fine-tune their skills and gain some great professional experience.
  • Students have many job opportunities as follows:
    • Power Engineer
    • Electrical Engineer
    • Transit Technology Systems Engineer
    • Industrial Electronics Specialist
    • Medical Device Developer, etc., with an average salary of around 40,000 USD per year.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:
  • In Grade 12, Students with a minimum overall average of 60% is required to be considered.
  • Grade 12 chemistry or Grade 12 physics are the compulsory subjects
  • Students must have Grade 12 math (Minimum math result of 55%). Grade 12 Predicted Marks.
  • The student should be ready to submit the Grade 10 Certificate and Grade 11 Final Transcript.
  • To be considered for this program, a minimum of 70 average in Grade 12 is required. 
Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they have anyone with 70% Marks of the following certificates:
