Program Description
- MSc in Neuroscience at the University of Victoria is offered as a 2-years program by the Division of Medical Sciences.
- The University of Victoria also ranked 2nd in Maclean’s top Canadian Comprehensive Universities 2019.
- The neuroscience graduate program focuses on cellular and cognitive neurosciences, reflecting UVic's two major neuroscience research streams.
- The program emphasizes connections between the core areas in neuroscience: learning and memory, synaptic function, developmental neuroscience, sensory-motor systems, and disease and injury and encourages students to develop competencies in more than one area.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have an undergraduate degree in neuroscience, biology, biochemistry, mathematics, pharmacology, physics, physiology, psychology, and zoology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- A grade point average of 5.0/9.0 (B or equivalent) in the work of the last two years (30 units) leading to the bachelor’s degree.
- Students must complete a Bachelor’s (4 years) degree in neuroscience, biology, biochemistry, mathematics, pharmacology, physics, physiology, psychology, and zoology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- The minimum grade score for a degree should be 7/10 (60%), first class.
