Program Description

  • Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Victoria is offered as a 2-years program by the School of Public Health and Social Policy.
  • The University of Victoria also ranked 2nd in Maclean’s top Canadian Comprehensive Universities 2019.
  • In this MPH program, students will prepare for careers that promote population health and well-being.
  • MPH graduates are experienced in providing system, program, research, and administrative support in the health and community services sectors, including health promotion and public health; government and non-profit organizations; and primary, home, and community care.
  • Students explore the ethical, legal, and social dilemmas impacting public health and health and community services. At its core, the collective goal of our school is to promote the health of populations.
  • The MPH program consists of a minimum of 21 units.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:
  • Students must have an undergraduate degree in Public Health or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • A grade point average of 6.0/9.0 (B+ average) in the work of the last two years (30 units) leading to the bachelor’s degree.
  • Applicants will be required to have completed an undergraduate statistics course with a minimum grade of B within 10 years of the program entry date.
Indian Student Eligibility:
  • Students must complete a Bachelor’s (4 years) degree in Public Health or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • The minimum grade score for a degree should be 7/10 (60%), first class.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
