- Both majors of the B Food Tech(Hons) program are accredited by the US-based Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). It is one of only a handful of program outside the Americas to have achieved this recognition. It is also provisionally accredited by the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) as a professional engineering degree under the Sydney Accord, an international agreement (equivalent to a three-year engineering degree).
- The Food Process Engineering major also has provisional accreditation by the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) as a professional engineering degree under the Washington Accord, an international agreement (equivalent to a four year engineering degree).
