Program Description

  • The Bachelor’s degree program conveys knowledge of the geoscientific disciplines Geology, Mineralogy, and Environmental Geochemistry, qualifying graduates for entry-level professional positions. 
  • Students initially are provided with an overview of the fundamentals of the Natural Sciences, the Earth system, rocks and minerals, and the development of life. In subsequent semesters, students will gain increased knowledge about geological history, geodynamics, igneous activity and metamorphosis, sediments, environmental geochemistry, and isotope methods.
  • Traditional analytical methods, such as light microscopy, will be taught alongside advanced electron beam lithography, mass spectrometry, and environmental analysis. In later semesters, students may select a specialization from the compulsory elective modules Geology, Mineralogy or Environmental Geochemistry, after which they will complete the Bachelor’s thesis
