- The Bachelor of Arts (Languages) honors year is both a preparation for postgraduate study and a capstone to an undergraduate degree. Honors can be the culmination of formal education, an experience that extends intellectual range, hones research abilities, as well as analytical and communication techniques, and helps students to develop the personal and professional skills needed to see a research project through to completion.

Admission to this course is on the basis of the following criteria:
- A secondary education qualification such as the Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), or approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses, are needed.
- The candidates should have prior knowledge of Mathematics as the course has mathematics prerequisites.
- If one does not meet the mathematics prerequisites, one can complete the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for mathematics and the post-MOOC exam, or can apply for and enroll in a course that doesn’t have a mathematics prerequisite, complete the required studies in mathematics and then apply to transfer to the initial course choice.
