Program Description
- Bachelor of Arts in Education at the University of Cambridge is offered on a full-time basis for a duration of 4 years.
- It is an on-campus and honors program.
- Education is a rewarding interdisciplinary degree that allows students to combine the study of educational and social issues with one of three specialist areas:
- psychology of learning
- international development or English
- drama and the arts
- The Faculty of Education has excellent resources and facilities within a purpose-built building, designed to support teaching, learning, and research.
- Students get the psychology laboratory and library facilities that houses an extensive collection of material on education and related fields.
- In year 1, students take 4 papers, including 2 compulsory Education papers which have a strong interdisciplinary emphasis on the papers.
- In Year 2, students take 5 papers. Two are compulsory are Designing Educational Research and The Emergence of Educational Thinking and Systems.
- Students have to attend approximately 4 to 6 lectures and seminars, and one or two hours of supervision per week.
- Students are assessed at the end of each year depending on the papers studied, this will be through coursework, written examination, or a combination of both.
- In year 3, students have to submit a dissertation of 8,000-10,000 words and 5 papers and two papers on particular issues in Education.
- The Faculty is one of the largest groups of educational researchers and teacher educators in the UK.
- The career options for graduates are extremely varied and include a wide range of occupations in the UK and abroad.
- As well as further study and teaching, our students have gone into research, educational psychology and neuroscience, publishing, and the Civil Service.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students are expected to have A-level (A* or A grade), Advanced Higher (A grade), Higher Level in the IB (40-42 points, with 776 at Higher Level), or another equivalent.
- Students have A Level/IB Higher Level in a subject relevant to the track students wants to study.
- Cambridge English: C1 Advanced – accepted with a minimum overall score of 193, with no element lower than 185, plus an assessment by the Language Centre.
- Cambridge English: C2 Proficiency – accepted with a minimum overall score of 200, with no element lower than 185.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL and PTE to get admission in this program.
- CISCE and NIOS - Students will require scores of 90% or higher in five or more relevant subjects
- CBSE - Students will require five or more A1 grades in relevant subjects
- State Boards - Students will be considered on a case by case basis. Students will typically require scores of 95% or equivalent in five or more relevant subjects.
- College Board Advanced Placement Tests - offers for all Cambridge courses may be made conditional on achieving grades of 5 in five or more AP Tests
- IIT-JEE (Advanced) - offers for Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Natural Sciences (Physical) may be made conditional on a rank of <2000 in the IIT JEE (Advanced)
- STEP - offers for Computer Science, Economics and Mathematics may be conditional on achievement in STEP.
