Program Description
- Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Cambridge is offered on a full-time basis for a duration of 3 years.
- It is an on-campus and honors program.
- Economics course provides a rounded, rigorous education in economics that is valuable for a wide range of career paths and provides a sound understanding of core, pure, and applied economics.
- Teaching is provided through lectures, classes, and supervisions and students can expect between 10 and 15 lectures each week in the first year.
- Assessment is mainly through formal written examinations that take place at the end of each year, and the compulsory dissertation in Part IIB.
- Typically, students have one three-hour exam for each paper covered that year.
- In Part I, the British Economic History paper is assessed via an exam paper and a project. There is also a project within the Econometrics paper in Part IIA.

- The research in the faculty is based on a number of research groups, each of which has its own seminar series.
- Students get the facilities to access an extensive range of statistical databases and software, and the Marshall Library of Economics, which holds a comprehensive collection of books, journals, and other papers in economics.

- At Cambridge, students develop skills in understanding complex arguments, analysis of practical issues and of data, and effective communication.
- Many graduates go on to professional training in chartered accountancy, actuarial work, and similar fields.
- Others are employed by financial institutions, or as professional economists in the industry, government, and management consultancy.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students are expected to have Mathematics to A-level (A* or A grade), Advanced Higher (A grade), Higher Level in the IB (40-42 points, with 776 at Higher Level), or another equivalent.
- Students have A Level/IB Higher Level Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Cambridge English: C1 Advanced – accepted with a minimum overall score of 193, with no element lower than 185, plus an assessment by the Language Centre.
- Cambridge English: C2 Proficiency – accepted with a minimum overall score of 200, with no element lower than 185.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL and PTE to get admission in this program.
- CISCE and NIOS - Students will require scores of 90% or higher in five or more relevant subjects
- CBSE - Students will require five or more A1 grades in relevant subjects
- State Boards - Students will be considered on a case by case basis. Students will typically require scores of 95% or equivalent in five or more relevant subjects.
- College Board Advanced Placement Tests - offers for all Cambridge courses may be made conditional on achieving grades of 5 in five or more AP Tests
- IIT-JEE (Advanced) - offers for Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Natural Sciences (Physical) may be made conditional on a rank of <2000 in the IIT JEE (Advanced)
- STEP - offers for Computer Science, Economics and Mathematics may be conditional on achievement in STEP.
