Program Description
- The Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) Diploma gives students the competencies and knowledge required to work with children under the age of five in licensed preschools and childcare centers.
- Education courses in the diploma meet the requirements of the Early Childhood Educator Registry for the ECE License to Practice; Infant/Toddler License to Practice and/or the Special Needs License to Practice. Students who successfully complete an ECCE diploma are eligible to apply to the degree program.
- Three core threads, Curriculum, Childhoods and Leadership, and Advocacy represent the focus of the education courses offered in the degree. These threads are woven throughout the degree inviting students to engage in the critical-reflective practice, working to create classrooms of social justice and equity for children and families.

Academic Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- Students must be completed high school graduation with a minimum of 60%.
- Students required to attend an information session, or make an appointment with a faculty member or program convenor.
- If English is not the students’ first language then they must provide proof of English.
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
- Indian School Certificate (ISC)
- Intermediate Examination Certificate
- Pre-University Examination Certificate
- Students must have a Grade XII chemistry or Grade XII physics.
- Students also hold Grade XII math (Minimum math result of 55%).
- Applicants from India, China, Vietnam, Philippines, and Pakistan should note that IELTS is the only proficiency score accepted by the Study Direct Stream (SDS) program.
- Meeting the minimum English requirements does not guarantee admission. Students with higher English proficiency scores will receive priority in the admission assessment process.
- Not all students will qualify for EAP-3106 in place of the required IELTS or TOEFL test scores.
