Program Description

Conestoga's Public Relations Diploma Program is the first step towards an exciting career in communications. In this program, students will learn how to build relationships between organizations and their many stakeholders. This highly interactive diploma will have students working with live clients, delving into case studies, and building their professional portfolios with relevant pieces as they progress.Students will discover creative communication strategies to solve organizational problems and make the most of business opportunities with key publics. They will also develop and apply various writing styles and tactical execution developed with a foundation of business knowledge. Brand reputation, media relations, crisis and issues management, digital media, presentation skills, research, emerging technology, design, and public relations solutions are only some of the skills students will be adding to their resume.Conestoga's  professional advisory committee allows students to meet and connect with leaders in the industry. In the fourth semester, students will step into the field for a five-week immersive placement opportunity and gain career experience before graduating. Graduates from this program will be well equipped to pursue social media management, public relations for non-profits, event coordinating, media relations, work within PR agencies or communication departments, and support entrepreneurial endeavours.
