- The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Chemistry at the University of California is a 4 years program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
- UC Berkeley offers two bachelors' degrees in Chemistry:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) through the College of Chemistry
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) through the College of Letters and Science.
- The BSc Degree in Chemistry prepares students for careers as professional chemists and serves as a foundation for careers in other fields such as biology and medicine.
- Students gain laboratory experience in inorganic and organic synthesis, analytical methods, physical-chemical measurements, spectroscopy, biochemical engineering, and chemical methods in nuclear technology.
- Undergraduates are encouraged to take full advantage of the scientific opportunities available in the department by joining a research group.
- A student must successfully complete at least 120-semester units in order to graduate.
- Students in the BSc program may also choose to pursue the Computational Chemistry or Materials Chemistry concentrations.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must either be in the final year of secondary school or have already completed secondary school studies to get admission in this program.
- A GPA of 3.4 (B+ grade) out of 4.0 is required in the last year of the studies.
- Students are expected to complete Year X and Year XII state board exams.
- The competitive students typically achieve high marks, primarily A1 and A2 grades or scores above 80.
- students must complete both year X and XII state board or CBSE examinations, with average marks above 70 and no mark below 60.
