The Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California is a 4 years program.
It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
The undergraduate major in Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) focuses on the study of molecular structures and processes of cellular life and their roles in the function, reproduction, and development of living organisms.
This covers a broad range of specialized disciplines, such as biochemistry, microbiology, biophysics, molecular biology, genetics, cell physiology, cell anatomy, immunology, and neurobiology.
There are five emphases (concentrations) in the program are:
- Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
- Cell and Developmental Biology
- Genetics, Genomics, and Development
- Immunology and Pathogenesis
- Neurobiology
In this program, students need to have completed Biology 1A, and have a C or better on the first midterm exam.
Students must also have completed Chemistry 3B after the early drop deadline.
Students have to successfully complete 120 units.
Any student intending to major in MCB must finish by the end of their 6th semester, or during the semester before their graduating term.
The MCB major provides excellent preparation for many careers and post-baccalaureate training programs, including graduate programs and health-related professional programs (e.g., medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy), science writing, law school, biotechnology, teaching, and academic research.

Academic Eligibility:

Students must either be in the final year of secondary school or have already completed secondary school studies to get admission in this program.
A GPA of 3.4 (B+ grade) out of 4.0 is required in the last year of the studies.

Indian Student Eligibility: Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:

Students are expected to complete Year X and Year XII state board exams.
The competitive students typically achieve high marks, primarily A1 and A2 grades or scores above 80.
students must complete both year X and XII state board or CBSE examinations, with average marks above 70 and no mark below 60.

The following required documents are:

Resume: It is the outline of academic achievements and/or awards, publications, relevant work, and/or volunteer experience.
Three Letter of Recommendation: Letter of recommendation which includes information about the student, their connection with the person they are recommending, their qualification, and the specific skills they have.
Statement of Purpose - This is an essay or any written statement written by the student while applying.
Personal History Statement: It describes how their background, accomplishments, and life experiences led to their decision to pursue the graduate degree for which they are applying.
College Transcripts: The marks statement provided by the education board after completion of the previous academic qualifications.
ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores.
