Program Description
The Software Developer graduate acquires the basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to qualify for career opportunities as a Junior Full-Stack Software Developer. Students complete practical, hands-on projects that emphasize quantitative reasoning, analysis and problem solving, technical writing and communications, and disciplined development of modern front-end and back-end software systems. Students should expect to work collaboratively on project-based assignments.
The program includes an eight-week work practicum and participation in Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology Work Skills Series workshops which provides students a solid foundation in the employability and essential skills employers demand. Graduates are provided access to the GitHub platform where they can further develop their professional presence.
Note: The Software Developer program is continuously updated to reflect current technologies and trends in the industry. Course offerings, content, and order are subject to change.
This program is for individuals who are highly motivated, have an aptitude for logical reasoning and problem-solving, and who desire a career working in technology—either independently or as part of a team. Students who are interested in this profession should also be patient, prepared to work long hours, and enjoy a collaborative work environment.
