Students in this program gain a flexible set of knowledge and skills that positions a student for employment in industrial settings as well as careers in business and information technology. Through theory, lab exercises, and hands-on projects such as construction of a power supply using electronic test equipment, fabrication equipment, and soldering, students will learn the fundamentals of electronic and electrical components, and the devices and circuits used in industrial settings.A work practicum placement gives students an opportunity to apply what they’ve learned and add to their skill-set through a real-world work experience and participation in Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology Work Skills Series workshops gives students a solid foundation in the employability and essential skills employers demand. This program is for individuals who are critical thinkers and thrive on analysis and problem solving, who enjoy hands-on work and working with technology, and who are equally comfortable working alone or as part of a team.
