Program Description
Students will gain the specialized skills and knowledge needed for a career working in today’s multi-vendor cloud infrastructure. Through hands-on training, learn how to tackle the business challenges of cloud architecture and the flexibility of cloud computing. As a graduate of Loyalist College's Cloud Computing post-graduate program, students may be eligible to advance their profession through the following certification pathways: Azure-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Azure 104 - Microsoft Azure Administrator, MS 365 Certification and CompTIA Security+.
Students will learn the knowledge to support cloud development and delivery for a variety of companies. Through hands-on training, prepare to deal with everyday business challenges of cloud architecture and gain a skillset that is validated by industry certifications. During this program, learn how to:
- Create secure solutions that support highly available micro-services that meet client needs.
- Implement enterprise-level applications in hosted cloud environments that respond to client needs and business practices.
- Architect and deploy fault tolerant solutions within cloud computing platforms to solve identified business requirements.
- Automate security and resources for applications by using cloud computing tools to mitigate risk for organizations and protect assets.
- Design and test code-based solutions to cloud computing problems that ensure in-depth security.
- Assess the viability of developing, deploying, maintaining and securing cloud computing solutions using a variety of resiliency testing tools.
- Create and defend cloud computing strategies used to solve identified business needs on behalf of a client.
- A co-op work term in semester four provides an opportunity to gain first-hand workplace experience.
Co-ops in work terms are valuable work-integrated learning experiences in which students demonstrate outcomes from previous semesters in Canadian industry settings. In addition to building skills and identifying career contacts, co-ops in work terms add industry-relevant experience to students’ résumés. The co-op job market is competitive, and students will be expected to participate actively in their job searches. Students will be supported with information and skills to attain co-ops.
