Welcome to the Department of Anthropology at the University of Lethbridge! Our department boasts an outstanding group of professors, with strong reputations nationally and internationally for their teaching and research. Our research strengths are broad, focusing on themes such as; childhood and youth, health and well-being, religion, ethnicity, transnationalism, material culture, the environment and ecology, complex societies and inequality, food, domestic economies and exchange, neoliberalism, happiness, indigeneity and development (among others!). So far, our geographical strengths cover much of the globe: South, Central and North America, Indonesia, Ireland, Africa and New Zealand. We are a relatively small department, proud of our undergraduate and graduate students and their many achievements.
