Program Description
As an Exercise Science for Health and Performance graduate, you assess, counsel and prescribe programs for athletes and individuals with high blood pressure, diabetes, heart conditions, obesity issues and other chronic conditions.
- Hands-on learning opportunities offered through new athletic and fitness facilities including assessment and weight training labs and new state-of-the-art testing and training equipment for high-performance athletes and clients with chronic conditions.
- Combines theoretical classroom learning with two work placements.
- Gain the knowledge and skills required to challenge the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CF) – Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) certification exam, the highest level of certification in the Canadian fitness industry, with two NC CEP Instructor Examiners.
- Graduates can seek a variety of other professional certifications including the CSEP High Performance Specialization, CSEP Certified Personal Trainer, NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and COKO Registered Kinesiologist Exam.
Other Requirements
- Minimum 50% in Bachelor’s Degree in relevent area. Recommended : Exercise Science, Human Kinetics, Kinesiology or Physical Education.
- Niagara College does not accept students from Open schooling and Distance Education System. Education Gap:Student completed most recent studies within 5 years from start of the program (Example: if the program begins in 2018, applicants must have completed their last program of study no earlier than 2013 Student does not have more than 9 backlogs in university study. All required courses = 55% required.
