Program Description
As a Behavioural Technician/Therapist you have expertise in the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and the skills to work with individuals with ASD in therapeutic and school-based settings.
- Develop an understanding of evidence-based practices for individuals with autism and how to design, implement and evaluate programs and intervention plans.
- Over 350 hours of field placement experience supported by a field placement officer.
- Access to iBooks and applications that support classroom theory and field placement.
- Graduates meet the coursework requirements to take the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board Inc. (BACB) Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) Examination. Note: applicants must meet additional requirements to qualify.
- Certification in non-violent crisis intervention is available.
Other Requirements
- Minimum 50% in Bachelor’s Degree in relevent area.
- Niagara College does not accept students from Open schooling and Distance Education System. Education Gap:Student completed most recent studies within 5 years from start of the program (Example: if the program begins in 2018, applicants must have completed their last program of study no earlier than 2013 Student does not have more than 9 backlogs in university study. All required courses = 55% required.
