Program Description
As an Electrical Engineering Technician graduate, you work closely with engineers on the design and development of the innovative technology used for communications, power systems, computers and monitoring systems in a wide variety of fields.
- Gain a solid understanding of electrical power systems, machines and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and benefit from learning about new trends in electrical motor controls, power electronics and renewable energy.
- Receive practical, hands-on experience in state-of-the-art labs.
- Graduates with relevant experience can apply for the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) certification.
Other Requirements
- Grade 12 with 50% and above. Math required. Recommended Courses : Physics – Grade 11 or Grade 12
- Niagara College does not accept students from Open schooling and Distance Education System. Education Gap:Student completed most recent studies within 5 years from start of the program (Example: if the program begins in 2018, applicants must have completed their last program of study no earlier than 2013 Student does not have more than 9 backlogs in university study. State Secondary School Board All required courses = 55% required & 10 + 2 English = 65% required. State Technical Education Board All required courses = 65% required, 10 + 2 English = 70% requied.
