Program Description
As a Dental Assistant, you play a key role in a dental practice and have the knowledge and practical skills needed to help patients achieve their oral health goals.
- Over 400 hours of hands-on, experiential learning in Niagara College’s modern, fullyoperational dental clinic and labs.
- Unique interprofessional education experience in both classroom and clinical environments.
- Gain practical experience in a dental office field placement and combine theory with real-world experience.
- Accredited by the Commission of Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC).
- Graduates are eligible to write the entry to practice National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB) exam followed by certification by the Ontario Dental Assistants Association after successful completion of the NDAEB exam.
Other Requirements
- Grade 12 with 50% and above. Maths, Biology, Chemistry OR Physics Required
- Niagara College does not accept students from Open schooling and Distance Education System. Education Gap:Student completed most recent studies within 5 years from start of the program (Example: if the program begins in 2018, applicants must have completed their last program of study no earlier than 2013 Student does not have more than 9 backlogs in university study. State Secondary School Board All required courses = 55% required & 10 + 2 English = 65% required. State Technical Education Board All required courses = 65% required, 10 + 2 English = 70% requied.
