Program Description
Social and Political Sciences at Keele explores the core elements of sociology and politics and provides an understanding of how these two areas interact with each other.You will research and identify social issues and global matters, developing a theoretical understanding of contemporary challenges impacting society. This includes topics such as the environment, political systems, law and governance. You will learn to critically evaluate and develop your problem-solving skills, whilst building your awareness of various complex scenarios and real world problems such as conspiratorial politics that can impair people's judgements and decision making in regards to individual circumstances and lives.You will consider, the past, present and future and reflect on the core elements and changes that have played a key role in positive developments in society or the lack of change and its consequences.WORK PLACEMENT YEAR
On this course, you will have the opportunity to opt for a Work Placement Year in the School of Social, Political and Global Studies between Year 2 and 3. This will allow you to apply your knowledge and practical skills in a workplace environment enabling you to build key skills in communication, teamwork and project management. You will be able to demonstrate your abilities and creative thinking, working with fellow professionals as well as independently.You will be supported by staff in your preparation to apply for a work placement that suits your interests and career prospects. - CISCE / CBSE / West Bengal Class XII: 60% - 90% required depending on course. Subjects Requirements : - Maths with 70% and English with 60% All other State Boards Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) / Standard Class XII: 65% - 95% required depending on course.Subjects Requirements : - Maths with 70% and English with 60% 2 years of study must have been completed.
- For IELTS Waiver : CISCE/CBSE Class XII: 70% or above. All other State Boards Class XII (except Punjab or Mohali School Education Board): 75% or above in English, depending on course.Study should be taught in English. Otherwise IELTS is required.
