The professional Master of Architecture degree is recognized by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), the Architects Registration Board of HKSAR (ARB), the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA), the National Board of Architectural Accreditation (NBAA) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

The University began to provide professional education in architecture in 1950. In 1975 a building program was introduced, which later developed into the current surveying program. The Faculty of Architecture was established in 1984, replacing the former School of Architecture, to provide professional education in both architecture and surveying.

The Faculty of Architecture currently offers a comprehensive range of Taught Postgraduate Program in its three departments and two divisions that cover breadth and depth in the professional as well as the academic research fields of Architecture, Real Estate and Construction, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture and Architectural Conservation. The majority of program offered are being professionally accredited by local and/or overseas professional bodies.
