Program Description

International Relations is the study of global affairs, as well as ideas, interactions, and structures that affect almost everything around us. During your studies, you will learn about the causes of war and peace, regional and international security arrangements, foreign policy, international organisations, the history of international relations, British military and more. You will also develop a good understanding of traditional and critical approaches to global politics, from power-politics to the effects of gender and identity on current events. You will gain expertise on regional politics as well, focusing on Europe, the USA, East-Asia, the Middle East, African politics and more.You will learn to interpret theory and text and present your findings and explanations through both written and verbal methods. This course will also equip you with key skills for research and allow you to develop both personally and professionally in becoming an independent thinker, preparing you for a career of your choice.

WORK PLACEMENT YEAR

On this course, you will have the opportunity to opt for a Work Placement Year in the School of Social, Political and Global Studies between Year 2 and 3. This will allow you to apply your knowledge and practical skills in a workplace environment enabling you to build key skills in communication, teamwork and project management. You will be able to demonstrate your abilities and creative thinking, working with fellow professionals as well as independently.You will be supported by staff in your preparation to apply for a work placement that suits your interests and career prospects. This opportunity will allow you to develop both personally and professionally during your studies which will assist you in your employment after university.

  • CISCE / CBSE / West Bengal Class XII: 60% - 90% required depending on course. Subjects Requirements : - Maths with 70% and English with 60% All other State Boards Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) / Standard Class XII: 65% - 95% required depending on course.Subjects Requirements : - Maths with 70% and English with 60% 2 years of study must have been completed.
  • For IELTS Waiver : CISCE/CBSE Class XII: 70% or above. All other State Boards Class XII (except Punjab or Mohali School Education Board): 75% or above in English, depending on course.Study should be taught in English. Otherwise IELTS is required.
