Program Description

This exciting, two-year pre-registration course is underpinned by master’s level education, enabling you to become a highly educated mental health nurse with longer term potential for management, leadership, consultancy, educational and research roles.You will critically explore systematic approaches to the delivery of nursing care in response to health improvement and health promotion strategies based on local, national and international targets.You will also focus on developing communication and interpersonal skills that will enhance your ability to provide values-based, person-centred, compassionate care and develop comprehensive knowledge of mental health nursing and associated current healthcare interventions.You will undertake a piece of substantive research on a topic of contemporary practice specific to mental health nursing.

  • You will utilise our innovative clinical skills suites and develop your nursing skills out in practice in areas such as mental health in-patient settings, the community and in the prison service.

Other Requirements

  • Require an appropriate degree in a biological, health, social science, nursing or related subject. 
  • Also Require an appropriate mathematics qualification. Typically accepted qualifications are SQA Standard Grade Credit, SQA Intermediate 2, SQA National 5 or GCSE at C, or above. Equivalent qualifications accepted. A numeracy test will be provided for applicants who do not posses an appropriate mathematics qualification
  • 70% in Class XII English and the certificate should be not be more than 8 years old at the time of making the application.No MOI letter would be accepted henceforth.However, please note that students will require an IELTS or equivalent, if applying from the following School Education Boards: 1. Punjab Board,2. Haryana Board,3. Uttar Pradesh (UP) Board or4. Jammu & Kashmir (J & K) Board.
