Program Description
Prepare yourself for a career in the criminal justice system with UWS’s BA Criminal Justice / Criminal Justice (Policing).This degree – the only one of its kind in Scotland – will help you develop expertise in criminology and criminal justice, social science, research methods, law and policy so that you’re ready to work in related areas in policing, prisons and the third sector.After Year 2, you’ll have the option to continue to study criminal justice or to specialise in policing through our policing specialism options.We work closely with experts and practitioners in criminal justice to provide a firm understanding of criminology and criminal justice in Scotland, the UK, Europe and internationally. Our exciting degree includes topics such as: policing, prisons and punishment, crime investigation, youth and gang violence, forensics, victimology, and explores the journeys of those who come into contact with the criminal justice system, including looking at some of the reasons people may commit crime. You will learn to examine information critically and develop skills that you can take with you into many aspects of your life.COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

Other Requirements
- Require SQA HNC / BTEC Level 4 HNC / CertHE: Police Studies or Policing or Socia Sciences or Legal Services with Ctiminology & Policing (for SQA HNCs, with Grade B, or above, in the Graded Unit)
- 70% in Class XII English and the certificate should be not be more than 8 years old at the time of making the application.No MOI letter would be accepted henceforth.However, please note that students will require an IELTS or equivalent, if applying from the following School Education Boards: 1. Punjab Board,2. Haryana Board,3. Uttar Pradesh (UP) Board or4. Jammu & Kashmir (J & K) Board.
