Program Description
This twelve month, full-time programme is structured to allow for 3 hours of taught sessions per week whilst the rest of the time is spent in the lab or carrying out other research project related work.MRes in Biomedical Sciences and Translational Medicine students undertake 1 research project over 36 weeks including 2 weeks set aside for preparation of a preliminary project report and 4 weeks dedicated to writing the final research project report and preparing oral, poster and digital media presentations. During the project, all students are encouraged to suggest experiments, design experimental protocols, as well as being taught subject specific techniques and advanced knowledge and transferable skills. The research projects will include a range of research techniques to enhance training in experimental skills.Lectures on taught modules relate to state-of-the-art research techniques, application of knowledge in areas of modern biomedical and translational research, and the development of personal and professional transferable skills. Important and innovative parts of our transferable skills training include workshops on "IP and Commercialisation (our own version of Dragon’s Den)", and “Grant Writing”, as well as debates and approaches to improve public understanding of science.Other Requirements
- Candidates with a 2:2 science degree or above. The minimum English Language requirement for EU and international students is IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.Intercalating students are required to sucessfully complete their fourth year of study.
- For IELTS Waive off , you require 70% and above in English in Standard XII for CBSE/CISCE/WB/Karnataka/Maharashtra/TamilNadu/Andhra Pradesh/Kerala/Telangana/Goa/Delhi/Sikkhim/Gujarat/Meghalaya boards..Three-year Bachelor's degrees like BComs can be accepted, but sometimes the content covered in such degrees does not provide adequate grounding for our more specialised programmes such as MSc Finance.We also accept, as evidence of English language skills, an undergraduate degree from one of the following Indian universities (including affiliated colleges): Anna University Mumbai University Pune University Bangalore University University of Delhi University of Madras Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT)
